SailTime's Novice to Captain program was designed for two main reasons

  1. To give those new to boating the skills and confidence they need to do easy, day sails. Members enrolled in the 1st Tier of our program complete a series of simple theory and practical training systems. Once they are 100% confident in their abilities to skipper the boat and have proven their skill on the water, they are able to use the boat on their own.
  2. To teach experienced sailors how to sail for longer periods of time and in a greater variety of conditions.

The Novice to Captain program also provides additional theory certifications and practical experience that is monitored through the SailTime E-ttendant system, and reported on-line through an interactive, real-time personalized boating resume. SailTime's Novice to Captain Program combines theory training with practical sailing experience. It offers three distinct levels of comprehensive certifications. The Novice to Captain Program is receiving major recognition thanks to its unique, trackable results.

The SailTime Novice to Captain Program also builds and maintains your on-line sailing resume. The Program eliminates the need for you to complete lengthy resumes for charter companies. Instead, your personal resume is hosted on the SailTime site. You can give the charter company the link or print your resume and fax it to the company. You don't even need to maintain it. Our electronic E-ttendant system automatically updates your resume after each sailing outing.

Your resume will include:

  • The number of trips under your command
  • The average length of your sailing outing
  • Your theory certifications gained from other organizations
  • Your actual practical experience gained through SailTime.
