Hunter e36 Electrics Join the Fleet

This month, we take delivery on two of the first electric engine sailboats from Hunter Marine. In both instances, the primary auxiliary propulsion is provided by an electric motor. Both yachts have a diesel generator to charge the batteries if needed. There has been much talk in the industry about greening the sailing experience and certainly many DIY sailors have converted but the e36 is the first production sailboat manufactured new with this type of set up.

Detroit Offers Two Locations to Sail

For the past seven years, SailTime Detroit has been helping sailors go sailing on Lake St. Clair in Detroit, which is also known as,  “the Heart of the Great Lakes”. It's a great place to explore as there's always something new to see and do. Nearly every time you go out you see freighter traffic, either up-bound or down-bound on the freighter channel. Then there's sailboat racing at least two or three days a week and sometimes we get to see the go-fast boats speeding across the lake.

On Lake St. Clair we sail out of Shore Club Apartments and Marina. You wouldn't believe our entrance to the marina. It's a tree-lined boulevard. And talk about amenities - heated outdoor pool, convenient bathhouse, exercise facility and sauna, picnic area, barbeque grills. And best of all, quick and easy access to Lake St. Clair.

Spotlight on San Diego Sailing

Sail with SailTime San Diego out of its' convenient Harbor Island port. You will enjoy Southern California sailing at her best, whether you stay in the “Big Bay” with all her attractions or head out to sea, the options are endless. The bay is considered one of the finest natural harbors in the world and offers excellent protection in any weather.

The marina that sefvices the base, Harbor Island West, is ideally located minutes from downtown and is directly opposite the airport, which is more than convenient for all of the out of town members. With Southwest airlines, you can live about anywhere out west and make San Diego your sailing base! SailTime becomes the ideal bed and boat situation.

Chicago Members Give Thumbs Up

We recently go this nice review from SailTime Chicago Member, Brian Kilpatrick!

We had the opportunity to sail with SailTime last summer and could not have asked for a better experience! Not only is the process user-friendly, the team at SailTime did everything to ensure we had a pleasant experience, from training courses to answering weekend phone calls (thanks Ryan!) - they made sure we were comfortable every step of the way.
